  1. Kept In The Dark In America As Usual

    Hi,

I’m a regular lurker of your site, and I’m hoping you might know something we in America can’t see.

I can’t find the numbers of people that marched in the NYC protests or ANY of the protests here in the US. I don’t have cable and have seen NO news coverage of any protests broadcast today. The closest thing I’m getting is PBS lovingly showing programs about WW II and a happy 1940’s soldier who had two girls he professed love to and had them fighting over him while rolling about on some sunny, green hillside (ahhh, ain’t war grand?).

Anyway, regarding numbers, the only I’ve seen so far is that was and was estimated at 100,000 marching in NYC. I find that *extremely* difficult to believe.

CBS World News Tonight is finally on and is now saying that we *maybe* had 500,000 in NYC. They are saying NOTHING at all about the size of the marches in the other big American cities such as San Fran and Seattle. Does anyone know what those numbers really were?

  2. Kept In The Dark In America As Usual

Well, I still can’t find numbers from mainstream news sources so I have resorted to this site:

Hopefully I will find a better site, but at least some news is better than no news at all.

CNN’s numbers are quite a bit lower than most other reports that I have read, heard, or seen on TV so far, as shown here:

Micah also has a book coming out soon of remixed propaganda. I submitted his site to Michele’s competition… haven’t heard from her since though so not sure what’s going on there.

His comic books are pretty awful though…

  4. The news here in Austria reported half a million peace marchers in New York, I believe, but didn’t say whether that estimate was by the organizers or the police; the two figures can differ widely.

Here in Vienna about 50,000 protested for peace.

An estimated 11 million people marched for peace worldwide, according to Austrian media.

    Thank you Mig :)
