Is this another attempt by the Bug at improving self-image?

what sort of image do tanning salons have where you live? i always thought people who went to them were lame types with gold chains etc. when we had our little spa outing, though, i tried one out and found that not being pale for once (celtic ancestry outweighs the mohawk with me) unusual in a positive way. and here, it turns out, in our town, everyone goes. i suppose it’s part of the bug’s general campaign to look good naked, yeah.
When I worked in Brooklyn, I passed a tanning salon every day. The people coming out of them all looked leathery to me.

maybe brooklyn tanning salons are somehow different, tougher or something.

i mean, as long as you combine the visit with the gorilla-placenta-plasma transfusion, i think you’re okay leathery-wise.

i have been looking for a tanning salon but i cant seem to find one, and if i do, i wonder if i will actually go in.
they are kinda sleazy, i guess i would go to a new one-god i sound like an ass
seriously we havent had sun in nyc in weeks
and i feel like a need a sun preview
i like it when my skin smells like burnt protein
but then what happens later? peeling, blotchiness, so then you keep going back until your skin is fried
i think if you can have the discipline to just go like twice a year when you are desparate, then you wont ruin your skin-or do you even care?
What were you doing in a tanning salon, anyway, Mr. Bug?
