Whew. I have seen way too many gruesome (yet subtle!) injuries from labrets. There really aren’t any mouth piercings that are safe: just by being there, they can cause soft tissue and osseous erosion, so unless one has a fetish for really expensive dentistry it’s not a great idea. I miss my tongue piercing so much. Sigh.
be grateful that your daughter INFORMED you. mine just took a safety pin to her nose when i wasn’t looking. she wore an earring in it for awhile and when we finally bought a regular nose ring for it, it wouldn’t hang straight. she pierced it crooked. for now, the ring is gone. but it’s just a matter of time before the old hole heals and a professional STRAIGHT piercing can be done. feh.
