A lightning storm over our house woke me up at four this morning. It was still raining pretty good when Beta and I drove into town. I made her take pictures all the way in, until the batteries went dead.
I woke up this night and saw the lightnings coming from your direction. Couldn’t see the real lightnings, just the light behind the hills. I closed the windows, went back to sleep and had horrid dreams of Vienna being attacked by planes and burning like hell.
>First, note the new “public” email address. I am using gmail ’cause I am seriously thinking about changing ISPs which will lose all my Earthlink addresses.Second, I don’t know if you have this site’s address. I have only been posting stuff very sporadically for the past 1/2 year or so, and mostly to this site. <
Which brings me to the reason for this post: I have found that rechargeable batteries are the only way to go with a digital camera, and I always have a fresh set in my camera carrying bag. That way I am pretty sure of having enough backup to ensure that I can at least get to a store to buy more AAs (which is what my Canon takes) before my backups run out. Also, for what it is worth, I have as big a memory card as will fit in the camera (1 gig). That way I know that I will never run out of storage. I can’t imagine taking over 1000 pictures before getting to a computer to d/l them.
Oh yeah, I’ve added you as one of my Flickr contacts…
