I almost hit a swan on the freeway. He was flying across a bridge, about 9 feet above traffic, slow as can be, just cruising along. Since my Dobl

When I was young, my small brother’s best friend kept swans as pets; his parents raised them and clipped their wings so they couldn’t escape their pen in the back yard.
Unfortunately, there were also foxes in the neighboring widerness, and the mother fox knew exactly where to bring her pups every year that they might learn to hunt where their prey could not escape. Foxes being far better jumpers than swans, the fence was no obstacle; carnage erupted every spring.
Ah, childhood!
well, i’ll be damned if i didn’t hit a manatee out on the freeway the other day. it just came out of nowhere! NY really has a problem with them. hairless, toothless bastards. they should move back to Austria where they came from!
what i really dislike are the tapirs, especially at this time of year, winter approaching, they come up to the house and beg, or get stuck in the cat door.
