Michele and I were discussing the vagaries of pinging weblogs.com this afternoon (my time).
- Propagandhist: do you use MT to ping?
Propagandhist: I do it by hand. MT never works for me.
[Note that this was not a one sided conversation. Michele just had all the funny lines]
Have you pinged today?
In fact, michele has the funnier post on this topic, too.
Together, we may make one funny person.
Woot.
*ping*
It worked.
woot!
When I’m at one computer I have a bookmarklet that pings weblogs.com; at another I just bookmarked the results of going to the page manually. this works 99 percent of the time, but now and then weblogs.com hiccups.
Blogtracker is definitely the way to track which blogs have updated.

If you’re interested, there’s an NT code fix in the MT Support Forum that corrects the problem that causes most failed weblogs.com ping attempts.

Thanks Dodd. And I was afraid I was just getting old.
My MT pings weblogs.com just fine all the time. I have heard of problems on some servers though – if the fix mentioned doesn’t work, then it’s probably a server issue…
