The state where the legislature currently in session considered a law that would forbid any trousers that showed the wearer’s underwear. And that is trying to add a definition of marriage as between one man and one woman (at a time, I assume) to their Constitution!! And last year conned the gullible conservatives into a constitutional amendment that raised the income taxes of people who itemized deductions? (These same people are screaming bloody murder because they didn’t read what they voted on.) I have the political misfortune to live in the most republican parish in the state. At least we managed to get a democratic governor last year–who happens to be a woman. And, it looks like this current legislative session is finally removing all the past Jim Crow laws from the books.
