The bread, by the way, was wheat sourdough, and it rose too long, and lost... surface tension (the surface actually cracked) and I guess elasticity? Which might be the same thing. So, as a result, it did not get as much oven rise and was a bit flat, tho not my flattest ever, and lacked that appealing smooth sourdough exterior. HOWEVEr spending an extra full day (2 instead of 1) in the refrigerator, plus maybe the extra rising time outside prior to baking (about 7 hours instead of 4) was extremely good for the flavor, which was extremely good.

Two skeins of rather fine, bright-colored, pretty variegated yarn, three smallish skeins of thicker wintery yarn (wine-red IIRC), and the shop's last remaining gigantic skein of immensely thick whiteish yarn (takes 20-25 size needles (at least that is what they are called here in Austria, as fat as my thumbs) and allow you to knit a blanket (I had thought of it as a shawl but my wife has decided it is a blanket and needs more yarn, hence today's yarn purchase) in a day (whereas I am about a foot into a wide scarf I have been knitting for weeks with finer yarn and normal needles).
