and after i finished laughing enough to finish the post and read the comments, i realized that my children were very lucky that i don’t pack their lunches anymore . . .
i never would’ve thought of the fork tine thing, i would’ve used a big, fat poisonous sharpie and doodles ALL OVER their bananas. i probably would’ve killed them.

If you write the message with the tip of a fork tine, for example, without breaking the skin, just bruising it, it takes a few minutes for the message to appear as the peel browns. Of course, this is to no avail if you have to make lunches way early before everyone gets up etc.
