Driving somewhere with my wife yesterday, I turned down this little road I’d always wondered what lay down; actually, I knew already, I just hadn’t been there to look at it in a long time – a small group of wine cellars, their roofs just visible over a hill from the road. It was nice to see them, but not as nice as I had hoped. They actually looked a little shabbier and more disappointing than I’d remembered. Then, driving away we drove down another little road my wife was curious about, and up a hill, for a panoramic view of our area neither of us had seen before, with sunset and rain clouds all along the horizon, moving closer.

Now I have to wash my car, because roads less traveled turn out to be really muddy.
